Lunar New Year, in the Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese calendars, will take place this week, celebrated with festivities across the world. As in previous years, Disney is set to hold a range of festivities at California Adventure Park in Anaheim.
How to get tickets:
Entry to most Disney Lunar New Year festivities is included in the price of admission to Disney Parks. Some events may require special tickets. Food and marketplace events will involve separate purchases. Be sure to check the Disney website for specific information.
List of festivities:
- Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession will take place every day at 12:45 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 6:45 p.m. between Hollywood Land and Paradise Gardens. The parade features appearances from Disney mascots and Chinese entertainers, as well as musical accompaniment.
- Hurry Home Water Show happens at 9 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. on Paradise Bay. It is a pre-show for the regular World of Color - One spectacle.
- A Lunar New Year Wishing Wall will give visitors the chance to write a message for the new year.
- Festive marketplaces will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. every day, and serve a variety of Asian-inspired foods.
- Musical performances drawing on artists’ Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean heritage. Consult the schedule on the Disney website.
Additionally, smaller events will take place throughout the park. Characters Mushu and Mulan will be available for photos and autographs in Paradise Gardens, and special merchandise will be available throughout the park.
